Canberra Pr - - Last Model

I understand that the Last Model of the PR Canberra was capable up to its last days of being able to run away without afterburners from most Aircraft that should have been able to keep up with it .

It was born near where I was and very close to the same date - - ( Could be a similarity ) - - and up until recently it could also boast to still be in service despite being way past it !

Nothing like those immediate Post war military Aircraft .

I saw recently a collection of newsreels about Farnborough Airshow, and low and behold there was "the new Canberra from the English Electric Company" on the newsreel for 1949. It looked like a time machine next to the other aircraft on display. A really classy aircraft.
