Jet Leader's CL604 B-LBL (5604) followed me back from Hong Kong to make its first Gatwick appearance early this morning. Also on a first visit was Ryanair B738 EI-EFT (37543), leaving just EI-EFJ (37536) to come & see us.
FLEET NEWS
EasyJet A319 G-EZFL (4056) made its first flight on 2/10. A320 G-TTOI (2137) flew its last revenue service today from Faro to Gatwick as EZY918P & was then ferried to Shannon as EZY1P for preparation for British A/W.
Estonian Air has disposed of B735s ES-ABC (26324) & ES-ABD (26323) to Aerosvit as UR-VVS & UR-VVU respectively.
Freebird A320 TC-FBY (0283) was ferried from Antalya to Zurich in basic scheme on 20/9 prior to return to the lessor.
SAS Norge B735 LN-BRR (25648) has become N637SR (though does not appear on the US register as such) with Wells Fargo Bank Northwest & was ferried from Oslo to Bournemouth on 28/9 to be painted all white.
ROUTE NEWS
African Alliance is now rumoured to be starting its long-promised four-times weekly (days 2, 3, 6 & 7) from Banjul on 15/11.
EasyJet will launch a daily Dusseldorf service from 02/02/10.
Iraqi A/W. Another service that has been the subject of rumours & false starts in the past is now said to have a start date of 8/10. At present, it is thought that this will operate on days 2, 4 & 7, arriving at 20.10 & departing 21.40. The flight will originate from Baghdad & is due to make a transit stop at Maribor, Slovenia, but it is understood that the airline has not yet received approval for the stop in Slovenia, so don't hold your breath!
Olympic Air is to start an Athens to Gatwick service on days 2, 3, 4 & 5 from 26/10.
Transavia is returning to Gatwick after an absence of many years, moving its Luton to Rotterdam service to Gatwick from 2/11. The service will operate twice daily on weekdays & once daily at the weekend. Weekday arrivals are due to be at 07.25 & 22.20
