    Re: My Travel

I think they merged with Thomas Cook but I honestly couldn't tell you if the aircraft are still flying under the Mytravel brand...

    Re: My Travel

    That's indeed correct

Thomas Cook Group, the company formed by the merger of travel giants Thomas Cook and MyTravel, began trading on June 19 2007....all My Travel aircraft have now got Thomas Cook titles

He who laughs last obviously has'nt heard the bad news.

Do they still use their famous "Kestrel" call sign?

Pity. So another one is gobble up. Only Monarch now remains klinging to the fragile ties of the great British aviation days of the 70's and 80's. Gone are great names like Laker, BCal, Airtours, Dan Air, Orion, Cal Air, BIA and Brittania that used to grace our airports in those golden days with the roar of their B-111, B727, B707 and B732. Those days are gone forever. All we now have is whining from fuel efficient engines that power today's today's boring twins. That's why I don't do much spotting anymore these days.

What about Air Europe, InterEuropean, Flying Colours, Peach Air and Britannia has one T and two N's !!

Not these days! Britannia has one T and two M's! Thomsonfly.com! I am sure Maggie wouldn't be too impressed if she was still in power! Much like what she did to those silly BA tails! I think that there should be a campaign to bring back the Britannia name and colours!

    Re: My Travel

My favourite nickname for a British Airline was the one for Peach Air - Passengers Expect Another Crap Holiday........

    Re: My Travel

My apologies for having misspelled Britnania. I remember those "Britannia Nights", here in Malta every Thursday night in the peak Summer season, with no less than 14 B732's banging in within 8 or 10hrs. How could I have left out Air Europe? Shame on me. There was also British Island Airways (BIA). And another shortlived airline (!) Amber Airways with their sole B732, which i beleive was reg'd G-BOSA. Anyway the fact remains that those days, and liveries, are gone forever and will never be back. I am glad I lived through those glorious days. The younger generation does not know what it's missing.
