Wizz Air, the biggest no-frills operator in Poland, is suspending flights between Coventry Airport and Gdansk just two months after the service was launched. The Hungarian-owned airline has operated three flights a week between Coventry and Gdansk, but is 'suspending' the route next Tuesday (May 13).
Wizz Air spokeswoman Natasza Kazmerz said: ‘Due to the launch of flights out of Ukraine we have decided to close recently opened routes, because this will least affect our passengers. We will resume these flights as soon as possible.’
However, aviation analysts say that airlines are currently restructuring their schedules as fuel cost continue to spiral and demand for flights falls. The only other airline operating flights to Gdansk from the Midlands is Ryanair from Birmingham Airport.
