OSHKOSH 2008: Red Hornets fly

Oshkosh crowds were wowed this year by displays from Boeing F/A-18C Hornets in Russian air force northern territory Sukhoi 27 colours.

From the US Navy's adversary Fighting Squadron Composite (VFC)-12, established in 1945 and based at Naval Air Station Oceana, they use the tactics of possible threat nations in training.

Known as the "The Fighting Omars", Squadron commander Doug "Cuz" Cochran says that his aircrafts' colour scheme is not an exact replica of the SU-27 as it has additional generic threat nations' markings.
