The Winners Announced

Scott Carson, the head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and the man who led the company's sales renaissance, was last night named Flight's Personality of the Year in the high point of a glittering ceremony in central Paris.

Nearly 400 guests at the Pavillon d'Armenonville saw Carson receive the accolade, and Alain Bellemare, President and CEO of Pratt & Whitney Canada, take the Publisher's Award for Outstanding Contribution to Aerospace. Kevin Lohnner, a PhD student at Stanford University, California won the Boeing Engineering Student of the Year award in a category launched last year. Your on-line nominations and votes in the Product categories narrowed down the field to the companies in the shortlists. Our expert panel of judges reviewed those products in detail and selected the winners.

Flight's own Awards committee of senior editorial staff selected the winners of the four Person/Team categories as well as the Personality of the Year, and the recipient of the Publisher's Award. The Boeing Engineering Student of the Year was chosen by an eminent group of retired Boeing engineers from among the entries submitted from around the world.
