Aer Lingus to add fourth Belfast - Heathrow flight

From March of next year Aer Lingus will add a fourth daily service on the Belfast International (Aldergrove) - London Heathrow route. In late summer the company announced that it was removing one of it's aircraft from it's Belfast base for the winter period and suspending flights to Paris, Faro, Barcelona, Rome and Milan. Today's announcement by Aer Lingus is at odds with its recent performance on the Belfast - London route where it has been losing ground to rival BMI. During Septmeber BMI managed a 5% YoY growth on the Belfast City - Heathrow route whereas Aer Lingus suffered a 13% YoY decline.
