Aer Lingus reports more passengers, lower load factor for November

Aer Lingus has reported its passenger numbers for November. Whilst the airline carried more passengers YoY during the month, load factor slipped slightly over the same month last year. The short haul routes performed well almost reaching double digit growth but the long haul services continue to remain under pressure although the 25% drop in this market has to be viewed in conjunction with an almost 26% drop in capacity.

Short haul network 704,000 +9.1%
Long haul network 72,000 -2.5%

Year to date passenger numbers now stand at 9.974m, up 2.6% YoY, short haul (8.980m) +5.2% and long haul (0.994m) -15.8%

The load factor figures look like :

Year to date, load factor is working out at 76%, up 1.2% YoY

On the revenue side, RPK (Revenue Passenger Kms) are overall down on last year :
