EI-EMS delivered to Cargoitalia through Shannon

It will surely rank as one of the longest flights for a “biro job” at the start of an aircraft lease.
Cargoitalia has taken delivery of MD-11F registered EI-EMS (4CA872) with a routing which took the aircraft from Singapore Changi to Shannon and onwards to Milan Malpensa once the required paperwork had been completed in Shannon.
The aircraft is msn 48766 and was built in 1996 for Belgian operator CityBird with whom it was registered OO-CTB until 2002. A two year period was spent on the Aruba register as P4-BDL before Finnair acquired the aircraft as OH-LGF in 2004. On February 1st this year the Finnish carrier disposed of the aircraft when it was taken by McDonnell Douglas Dakota Leasing as N783BC. The US registration was cancelled on June 1st when the aircraft took up marks EI-EMS. One wonders if Ryanair will be miffed by having the registration sequence broken ?
Pictured above, EI-EMS is seen about to touch down on R24 in Shannon this evening.
