At 34 years old, Air Contractors Oil Spill Response Lockheed L100-30 Hercules registered EI-JIV is a mere youngster in Herk terms. Built in 1976 with msn 4673 the aircraft visited Dublin today as it prepared to depart for the southeast coast of the United States to help with the environmental mop up resulting from the BP oil leak. Aer Arann's EI-SLL gets more colour

It would appear that Aer Arann's ATR72 EI-SLL is being painted as time permits. Prior to going on lease to the carrier from Air Contractors the aircraft (msn 387) had the engine cowlings painted. Air Contractors Boeing 737-31S registered EI-STA made its first visit to Shannon yesterday. The aircraft was operating a return charter from Dubrovnik to Shannon and also made its first visit to Cork during the week. Pictured above, EI-STA, msn 29057 is seen on finals to R24 in Shannon.

EI-SLL, first Air Contractors ATR 72 on lease to Aer Arann

Aer Arann have leased the first of three ATR 72 aircraft from Air Contractors. The first aircraft is registered EI-SLL and arrived in Dublin from Edinburgh on April 26 last. G-EZJW performs test flight in Europe Airpost colours

Boeing 737-73V G-EZJW is due to join the Europe Airport fleet as F-GZTD in the near future. The aircraft is being prepared for handover with Dublin Aerospace and performed a test flight yesterday using its easyJet registration G-EZJW. A new face on the Irish holiday charter scene this summer will be the ASL Aviation Group, aka Air Contractors, parent of Europe Airpost. The first aircraft allocated to the series is B737-31S, msn 29057. The aircraft is now registered EI-STA but is familiar to many as the former Thomson machine G-THOG. EI-EAC reinstated on Irish register

In recent weeks a number of A300 freighters have been reinstated to the Irish register. In the past 10 days A300-B4-203F OO-DLT (msn 250) reverted to EI-EAC, whilst OO-DLU (msn 289) reverted to EI-EAD, both registered to Air Contractors.
