Aer Lingus awards base maintenance contract for A320 aircraft to Dublin Aerospace

On Monday last, July 5, Aer Lingus announced that it had awarded a contract for a significant portion of its base maintenance requirements to Dublin Aerospace. The contract covers 12 Airbus A320 aircraft for the winter 2010 / 2011 season and will commence at Dublin Airport on November 1 2010. The fourth and last Bombardier CRJ-900 (msn 15111) registered EI-DUX has been returned to Exeter following painting in Air Mekong colours at the Eirtech Aviation hangar in Dublin Airport. This weekend, 20 volunteers from the Dublin Airport Police and Fire Service will undertake a charity campaign with a difference as they attempt to scale 18 mountains in a 62 hour period. Air Mekong is to enter the domestic Vietnamese market in October of this year with 4 Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft. Utah based SkyWest is to take a minority shareholding in the new operation. Austrian operator Tyrolean Jet Services are an occasional visitor to Dublin. On Tuesday last, June 22, the company’s Dornier 328JET registered OE-HMS (msn 3121) visited the capital.
