Air Mekong to start opertions with 4 CRJ-900

Air Mekong is to enter the domestic Vietnamese market in October of this year with 4 Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft. Utah based SkyWest is to take a minority shareholding in the new operation. When Italian airline MyAir collapsed in July 2009 it marked the failure of the first low cost carrier that year. Formed in 2004 by former Volare management the carrier was based at Bergamo airport in northern Italy and operated a fleet consisting of three Airbus A320 aircraft and four Bombardier CRJ 900.
