Ryanair to establish second maintenance hangar at Prestwick in £8m investment.

Ryanair announced today that it is to establish a second maintenance hangar at Glasgow Prestwick Airport in an investment which will cost £8m. The 6,000 sq.m facility is due to open in October 2010 and is expected to create an additional 200 engineering jobs at the Ryanair Prestwick facility. Prestwick Airport closed after Ryanair 737 skids on ice patch

Prestwick Airport was closed for a short time this morning when Ryanair's B737-8AS EI-DHD skidded on ice and slid off the runway onto a grass verge.The aircraft was operating flight RYR 772 from Dublin to Prestwick and had performed a normal landing at approximately 08.45. Ryanair to increase Prestwick base to 6 frames
