Aer Lingus has taken delivery of its latest aircraft, Airbus A330-302, msn 1106. The aircraft is registered EI-ELA and named "Padraig". Pictured above EI-ELA is seen arriving in Shannon, where it landed at 19:05 utc as EIN 2509 on its delivery flight from Toulouse. The aircraft is due to enter service on Sunday next. Today’s Delta Airlines flight DAL 9 from London Heathrow to Tampa diverted into Shannon on a medical emergency. EI-DUB at Shannon to be readied for transfer to Vladivostok Avia

Aer Lingus A330 registered EI-DUB arrived back in Shannon today for final tweaks in anticipation of the transfer to Vladivostok Avia. The aircraft arrived from Bordeaux this lunchtime as EIN 2507. Having been painted in Vladivostok colours at Manchester the aircraft was ferried to Shannon on January 29 last before departing for Bordeaux again on February 6. Pictured... Read More...

Today's flight AWE 707 routing Munich to Philadelphia diverted to Dublin with a problem in the Inertial Navigation System. The flight was over Northern Ireland when the problem was encountered. After initially electing to divert to Shannon the crew decided to change course and divert to Dublin instead , possibly due to the fact that the fix could be better... Read More...
EI-DUB departs Shannon for Bordeaux in Vladivostok colours

EI-DUB will be the third Airbus A330 (msn 55) to leave the Aer Lingus fleet for Vladivostok Avia. Unlike it's predecessors (which were painted in France), EI-DUB was painted in Manchester from where it returned to Shannon on Friday January 29 last. Although aircraft tyres are inflated with nitrogen to help stabilise the pressure and prevent fires, cold weather still has an effect on the tyres performance. Cold weather causes a drop in pressure as the gas contracts due to the lower temperature.
