The last time that the Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted in Iceland the spectacle lasted for over a year from December 1821 to January 1823. For almost 200 years it lay dormant until March 20 2001 when it erupted, throwing volcanic ash into the atmosphere. HA-LKE in Dublin

Dublin had a visit today from newly (Hungarian) registered B737-86Q HA-LKE. The aircraft is msn 30278 and was built in 2001 when it was delivered to Travel Service in the Czech Republic as OK-TVC. Whilst the Easter Bank Holiday provided typical BH weather in the west of the country ( rain ! ) the east coast faired somewhat better with regards to precipitation. Winds however were gusting to 45 knots throughout the afternoon and provided a pictorial diversion for the Dublin based photographers as can be seen in Michael Kelly’s pictures of Aer Lingus...
