Aer Lingus awards base maintenance contract for A320 aircraft to Dublin Aerospace

On Monday last, July 5, Aer Lingus announced that it had awarded a contract for a significant portion of its base maintenance requirements to Dublin Aerospace. Eirtech Aviation to create 71 jobs in Dublin Airport

Eirtech Aviation announced today that it is to create 71 jobs in Dublin Airport. The company which was formed by a management buy out of Lufthansa Technik’s aircraft painting facility in Shannon already employs 65 in the Shannon facility. On January 13 last, Duesseldorf based Blue Wings filed for bankruptcy. It was the second time in a year that the carrier had come close to the end of the line. Boeing 737-73V G-EZJW is due to join the Europe Airport fleet as F-GZTD in the near future. The aircraft is being prepared for handover with Dublin Aerospace and performed a test flight yesterday using its easyJet registration G-EZJW. The IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) has announced that MRO provider Dublin Aerospace has received EASA Part 145 approval. The facility at Dublin Airport is located in former SR Technics hangars and can accomodate 3 narrow body aircraft.
