Today leisure airline Monarch started to fly seasonally on charter basis Manchester-Bologna-Mombasa every fridays after a deal signed between four UK and three Italian tour operated. The charter route is operated by 309 seater B767/300ERs. This deal will stop at end of August 2009. Monarch wide body B767s G-DIMB was pictured this morning in Bologna by Lucio Alfieri.
The last addition in the network of Romanian budget carrier Blue Air is Bergamo-Lyon two times a week by Oct 26 2009 operated on monday and wednesdays.

MYAIR
is off from the market from July 24 2009 since the AOC has been
revocked by Italian CAA. 220 employees are now unemployed, the fleet is
grounded and prosecutors are on the way to check the companies
financial status affected by huge losses in 2008 and in 2009 and in
some medias figures speaks about probably more than 100 million €.

TRAWEL will fly the route Bergamo-Pantelleria every saturdays afther that MyAir was grounded.
They increase to 6xweek the route Bergamo-Naples by Sept 18 2009 and 5xweek on Bergamo-Catania on same day.
VUELING/CLICKAIR will fly in winter the same routes currently operated except:
Verona-Barcelona
Venice-Seville
Naples-Madrid.
Twice a week only is the service Pisa-Barcelona available on tuesday and saturday.
WINDJET by Sept. 15 2009 will open the third daily flight in Venice-Catania.

Alitalia extension of three days supplying reduced rates to facilitate the return home from abroad to MyAir passengers
Rome, 24 July 2009 - To meet the needs of customers who had bought a
ticket with MyAir and, in particular, to facilitate their return to Italy
for passengers holding MyAir tickets who are abroad these days, Alitalia
has decided to extend on days 26, 27 and July 28 the validity of the
reduced rates for holders of MyAir tickets.
Therefore,
presenting an e-ticket issued by Myair (or electronic ticket
receipt), issued before July 23, travelers can buy a ticket on
Alitalia network:
39 Euro (plus taxes and surcharges) for all direct flights from Venice to Cagliari, Bari and Palermo, or vice-versa;
