In the batch of routes today announced as dropped by Ryanair from Manchester, two of them involves Italian gateways. By Oct 1 2009 will disappear Bergamo and Cagliari from network of suitable routes in the departure from 2nd major gateway of UK.
Bergamo is granted every day and Cagliari is twice a week. Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara reports about Manchester refused to lower its charges. Routes will be closed/switched to closest airports such as East Midlands, Leeds/Bradforf and Liverpool.
Italian press yesterday reports that In the last days Bergamo airport managing company SACBO had ask to the civil court of Bergamo to impound three planes in operations with MyAir and in the hands of a lessor company. Handling fees not paid in an amount of 1 million € have forced SACBO to ask this action in order to defend his rights up to MyAir and in this case to the lessor. In fact in 1976 a specific law was issued in order to grant the creditors of debts matured by subjects where in this case planes are in property of a lessor. The lessor must respond in full of debts matured by the subject that use his planes. In this case the three planes involved are CRJ900s now in parking at Venice airport.
