Ryanair delivers new planes to Trapani and Bologna

Two new B737/800s are scheduled to based at Trapani and once to Bologna. 34 routes compose the network of Trapani by summer 2010 and 25 from Bologna.

The new destinations from Trapani are 13: Billund, Bratislava, Cagliari, Eindhoven, Genoa, Goteborg, Ibiza, Karlsruhe (Baden-Baden), Krakow, Maastricht, Memmingen, Trieste e Valencia, and increase to Duesseldorf Weeze, Hahn and Charleroi.

Bologna will have two more routes to Bordeaux and Malaga, increase in the services to Ibiza and London STN.

Trapani will have 4 B737/800s based and Bologna growth to 3.

 

Windjet open Nis

Its not a service to the major gateway in French Riviera, but a new flight to Nis in Serbia. Its the first direct service from Italy to that gateway. Weekly now in winter timetable 2009/10 on fridays. The new route will increase to twice a week in summer 2010 with a new flight on mondays.

United Airlines open Rome-Chicago. 2nd service to Italy

Yesterday a press release was issued by United Airluines for announcing the new daily route Chicago-Rome FCO by May 1st 2010. The new flight is operated with Boeing B767/300ERs.

Chicago-Rome FCO 18.25-10.40 UA904 daily

Rome FCO-Chicago 12.30-16.05 UA905 daily

Its a summer season flights that will end on Aug 31 2010.

Service between Rome and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, United's largest hub, will offer convenient new options for customers throughout the western United States, Canada and the Midwest. United will continue to offer once-daily nonstop service between Rome and Washington Dulles, the airline's principal gateway to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"Our new service to Rome from Chicago O'Hare adds even more convenience for customers looking to travel to Italy during the summer months," says Greg Kaldahl, vice president of resource planning. "Along with our Washington service, customers will have additional options to consider when making their summer travel plans."

"We are delighted that our hometown airline is expanding service between two world-class cities," said Mayor Richard M. Daley. "This service further strengthens Chicago O'Hare's position as one of the major global gateways in the United States."

Customers seated in United First and United Business cabins aboard all transoceanic B767 flights enjoy United's International Premier Travel Experience, which includes lie-flat seats, iPod connectivity, more than 150 hours of movies and television shows on-demand, and a selection of appetizers and entrees designed by world-renowned chef Charlie Trotter. 

Rome in summer season 2010 will offer to the travellers 3 daily flights to Chicago operated by three airlines. After United, on the same route are available daily services operated by Alitalia and American Airlines both with B767/300ERs.

 

Wizz adds Cuneo & Pisa. New 8th. route to Forlì
Four new routes to Italy and two new gateways added on Wizzair network map. Cuneo & Pisa appears in the list of destinations served by the major eastern Europe budget carrier. Pisa will get two routes to Cluj and Bucarest operated thrice weekly by June 12 2010. Cuneo is linked to Cluj with a 3xweek flight. Forlì will add the 8th. route with a new service to Timisoara.
EasyJet: Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech, Porto new destinations from Milan Malpensa

Four new destinations will be added by EasyJet in 2010 from her largest hub at Milan

Casablanca - Eff. February 11 2010 - 6xweek

Malta - Eff. March 30 2010 - 3xweek

Porto - Eff. February 12 2010 - 5xweek

Two airlines in one. Borns Meridiana Fly

Two airlines now all in one, Meridiana and Eurofly forms a single player that is born and called Meridiana Fly. Last night the Board of Meridiana and Eurofly in different meetings, but exactly concurrent resolved to proceed through the conferment of the integration activities' of air transport of Meridiana into Eurofly. The integration will determine 'the formation of an aggregation of one airline,  Eurofly and the Aviation business, which will be called 'Meridiana Fly SpA'. Eurofly's board has resolved to submit for approval a special meeting of shareholders a capital increase in the form to pay for a value of 52.56 million euros.. Approved a capital increase in option for 40 million euros to be executed after integration. The extraordinary meeting of Eurofly and meeting was convened on 21 and 22 of December 2009.

The integrated business plan  - it said in a statement - provides that "enhanced strategic and competitive positioning of the Meridiana Group in aviation market by obtaining a larger size, the rationalization of the fleet, the greater flexibility 'and the achievement of operational seasonal industrial synergies with a significant reduction in costs of production. " The Plan also provides for the creation of a new companyy (' Meridiana Express ') a wholly owned subsidiary of Meridiana Fly, designed to provide the tools to fly scheduled and charter on short and medium-range summer season routes in order to intercept a greater flow of passengers that flies during the higher peak tourist season, to reduce costs and raise the level of operational flexibility.

Meridiana Fly have a fleet composed by 4 A319 8, A320, 18 MD82, 3 A330 and has a network of destinations in 4 continents.

Wizz add Forlì-Budapest

Thrice weekly from March 30 2010 is the new no frill service operated by Wizz on Forlì-Budapest. Operated on tuesdays, thursdays, saturdays with 180 seater A320s this si the 7th route available from the smallest gateway not so very close to Bologna like advertised Forlì/Bologna.

Blu Express opens Istanbul

Budget carrier firm of Blue Panorama, today launched the new flight Rome FCO-Istanbul Sabha Gokcen scheduled 6 times a week. The new route is available now for sale and it will begin by Dec 17 2009. The flights are granted by a Boeing B737s aircraft with starting fare friom 49 € one way and taxes enclosed.

1st Alitalia A321s in new livery

Yesterday evening A321-112s I-BIXH was the first to be back from Norwich with new colour scheme and new interiors with 200 Recaro slim seats. 7 A321s will get the new corporate image prior end of 2009. Again on Nov 14 2009 two more A321s was ferried to Norwich, they are I-BIXG/Z.

In the meantime the Alitalia A320s are on the way to ahve the seat capacity increased to 165 from 153. The A319s will have the new standard to 138 in 2010.

Trawel Fly resume Bergamo-Reggio Calabria

Three times a week with effect Dec 4 2009 is the new schedule of resumed services from Bergamo to Reggio Calabria. This flight it will meet the demand that today has difficulties to go until the most remote edge of Italian peninsula.

Trawel Fly will fly on tuesdays, fridays, sundays and additional flights are planned on Dec 20, 23 and Jan 6 and 7.

New services are planned on twice weekly basis from Naples to Paris CDG on thursdays and sundays.

Trawel Fly is part of Trawel SpA, a company with interests in incoming, airline representative and it use a 148 seater B737/700s in ACMI from Astraeus.

Eurofly is now a member of IATA

A new feature that goes hand in hand with the growth of Eurofly scheduled operations. It should be understood the entry in Iata from Eurofly, the international association of airlines which counts among its members 220 carriers in 140 countries worldwide. "The presence in IATA will continue to develop ever more effective relationships with other carriers - the company said in a press release - making certificated the procedures for accreditation and therefore easier to reach commercial agreements." After the technical part of membership followed by other steps that will allow Eurofly to access services that IATA makes available to its members a view to "make the service offered to passengers more closely to the needs of interconnection between carriers in different countries - continued note - especially with regard to international customers. "

United will play the Rome-Chicago?

United Airlines have applied slot requests to fly daily Rome-Chicago from March 28 2010. Three class B767/300ERs is planned to be in use on this route. No bookings are available at the mnoment.

Meridiana sell stakes in Florence airport

Three years later Meridiana deletes any participation into ADF- Aeroporto di Firenze, the managing company at Florence airport. Meridiana have holds in his stands the 17,5% and now them they were bought by a local bank CRF-Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze. They has paid 18,1€ each the shares in the hands until now from Meridiana. Today they are quoted 15€ at Milan  stoke exchange. The bank have paid 28.617.584€ for that stock of shares, 3 years ago Meridiana have paid 17€ each the shares. The dismission probably can be seen in the new heading of the airline to focus the business into the airline management.

Florence is also an airport that has not any clear way of expansion. They are on the way shortly to have a new airport terminal, but talks and fights between local authorities concerning a new runway surely is far away from the breakdown day.

 

Alitalia introduce the mobile boarding pass

Tomorrow the passengers on Alitalia flights from Rome Fiumicino to Milan Linate (or vice versa), holding an electronic ticket, the check-in and boarding are even more comfortable and faster. The new service Mobile Check-In allows to receive boarding passes on your PDA or cell phone with Internet access.
 
To enjoy the service of Mobile Check-In is needed to connect to the site http://mobile.alitalia.it and enter the booking information (name, surname and e-ticket number or Millemiglia card number). This makes it possible to check-in, choose your seat and receive a text message on the display of the phone or PDA device with a link to the "electronic boarding card" in the form of a bar code.

The Mobile Check-in can be done even from a cell other than that will receive the SMS. At the stage of simply inserting the mobile number / email address where you want to send a link to the "electronic boarding card.

Joining the airport you can go directly to the dedicated security channels to the Rome Milan shuttle service (or vice versa) showing yours the  "electronic boarding card" appears your cell phone display. Alitalia to the US west coast by summer 2010?
Italy's flag carrier Alitalia-CAI will resume flights to Los Angeles by March 29 2010. The new service in departure from Rome FCO is planned to go with five weekly flights operated by B777/243s. Its the first new gateway opened on his long haul network since the airline take over.
