This morning EasyJet has started to sell tickets on new services Madrid-Naples (3xweek on tu-th-sa) and Venice (4xweek on mo-we-fr-su). The new routes will commence as from March 11 2011 on Madrid-Venice and March 12 2011 on Madrid-Naples.
Windjet Adriatic hub opened two years ago will be moved from Forlì to Rimini with effect summer 2011 schedule. Yesterday evening Forlì airport has got the notice by fax from Windjet.
Routes Turin-Catania and Genoa-Naples are no longer with Air Italy. These flights are operated until end of the month and in the Christmas rush between Dec 19 2010 and Jan 10 2011.
This morning Lufthansa flight number 319 operated by an Embraer 190s after take off from Florence has been collided with some birds. Flight was diverted to Pisa. 81 passengers onboard safely arrived. This flight has started to fly the route Florence-Frankfurt.
Continue the dismission of routes from Air Italy. The next is Verona-Catania after Christmas Holidays. Recently also services from Verona to Palermo was given up. high concnetration of carriers (Windjet and MERIDIANA FLY) is the possible reason. Ryanair will join Verona-Trapani and Verona-Palermo shortly.
Alitalia will account extra miles if passengers will make the check in using the Alitalia.com web site. The web check-in promotion is available for each flights until Dce 31 2010.
In 2011 its possible that Alitalia will open a new service to India. Recently it was declared by a senior manager the intention to start up non stop flights, yet is unknown the airport. Alitalia now is in code share with newest service proposed by Jet Airways on Milan Mxp-Delhi by Dec 5 2010.
Alitalia has recently confirmed he opening of Rio De Janeiro and Beijing. One more weekly flight is available on Rome - Osaka by June 2011 passing from 4 to 5xweek with B777/200s.
Following Air Baltic, as from Dec 1 2010 Air Malta will switch the non stop flights to Malta from Milan Malpensa to Milan Linate.
As from May 28 2011 the new route East Midlands-Verona on wednesdays and saturdays.
After Air Baltic, the Romanian private airline Carpatair will switch the route Bergamo-Bucarest to Milan Linate. The new service is from Nov 17 2010 with four weekly flights. The route by Dec 10 2010 is increased to daily.
The flights are ceased with immediate effect on Tel Aviv-Milan Mxp.
The flag carrier of Montenegro intends to be back with direct services to Milan Malpensa as from Dec 16 2010 on tu-th-su.
Twice weekly is the new flight Rome CIA-Volos as from March 27 2011 on wednesdays and sundays.
Air Seychelles is on the way to change the schedules to Italy in order to give better services to the market. As from Heb 8 2011 the route Mahe-Rome-London LGW is cancelled and replaced on Feb 15 2011 by a new circular weekly service Mahe-Rome FCO-Milan Mxp and vice versa.
No changes on the other schedules, both weekly on London-Milan-Mahe and viceversa, Rome-Mahe and viceversa.
Checking the airline web site there is a clear picture about a new proposed scheduled network of flights in departure from three gateways in Romania towards many countries enclosed Italy.
