Alitalia reduce Florence-Amsterdam in W11/12

Alitalia will reduce the weekly operations on Florence-Amsterdam route from 14 to 12 as from Oct 30 2011.

Windjet A319s in delivery

Windjet is on the way to get another A319/132 msn 2797 with registration EI-ESG leased from ILFC and with previous registration N611LF. The last operator was Mandala, the liner is right now flying out of Belfast to Catania. The previous routing was from Far East Asia via Luxor and than Belfast. First aircraft customer was Spirit.

 

Neos expand operations at Bergamo

As from winter timetable 2011/12 Neos will base a 186 setaer B737/800W at Milan (Bergamo) airport. The new jet will fly non stop weekly to Boavista-Ilha do Sal and several further routes are opened with.

Neos currently fly with 6 B737/800s and 2 B767/300ER/Wnad it has the main base at Milan Malpensa and further operative bases at Bologna, Rome FCO, Verona.

 

Yemenia appoints new GSA in Italy

G.S. Air is the new G.S.A for Yemenia in Italy. The airline wants to resume flights soon, they were ceased due to the civil war in the country. Thanks to the new fleet change, recently first two A320s of a batch of 10 were delivered. They expect also 10 A350s in the future. In the plans of Yemenia apart to resume flights to Italy is also the intention to offer better connections with Africa and Asia.

Next brand new Alitalia A319s is EI-IMN

Alitalia is short to get in delivery another brand new A319s with registration EI-IMN. The delivery is planned next week.

Alitalia slows the fleet expansion

In these days Alitalia hs reduced by 18 jets the lease contracted in the past with AP Fleet lessor. Italian finacial press Il Sole 24 Ore speaks that Alitalia will lease 26 Airbus jets instead of 44  Tne new agreement modify the agreement signed in 2008 between Alitalia and Toto Group which AP Fleet is the lessor with a group of companies based in Ireland.. Rocco Sabelli, Alitalia CEO has requeired 20 million € as compensation and Toto said no.

Blue Air upgrade all year round Bologna-Bacau services

Blue Air extends the route Bologna-Bacau from seasonal to all year round as from winter timetable 2011/12.

The new schedule is twice a week on thursdays and saturdays with one way legs from 19.99 €

Timetable:

Bologna - Bacau 12.00-15.15
Bacau - Bologna 16:00-17.15

Currently on summer the service is three times a week.

Blue Air increase flights on Catania-Bucuresti

Blue Air will introduce a new weekly flight as from winter timetable 2011/12 on Catania-Bucuresti every saturdays.
Bucaresti – Catania 17.30-18.50
Catania - Bucarest 19.35-22.40

Ryanair stops to sell tickets to Zaragoza

Italy s another country affected by the Ryanair decison to remove flight bookings on routes to Zaragoza as from Oct 30 2011. The Italian gateways with direct services are Bologna, Milan (Bergamo) and Rome Ciampino. The routes until last week was available for bookings and now they are not.

Egyptair wants to be back to Bologna and Catania in 2012

Egyptair country manager for Italy Mr. Wael Kadry, in a market meeting promoted by the Egypt's' Tourist Board with tour operators and travel agents at Montecatini Terme has released the intention of Egyptair to fly in 2012 to Bologna and Catania.

Services to Catania was operated for a couple of years with non stop flights to Cairo, Luxor and Sharm el Sheikh. Bologna has seen only all inclusive charter services to El Alamein. Bologna hopes to get a direct service to Cairo that connects with suitable Egyptair network destinations especially in Asia and Africa.

Emirates A380s to Rome

Dec 1st 2011 will mark the milestone when Emirates introduces the A380/800s in daily regular commercial service to Rome FCO from Dubai.

Emirates is already landed with the big jet on last June 6 2011 celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Rome Fiumicino operations.

Ryanair adds 2nd daily Bari-Rome Ciampino

With 8th liner based at Rome Ciampino, Ryanair will add the second daily rotation on Bari-Rome Ciampino as from Oct 30 2011.

Ryanair launch the competition Milan area to Marseille

Today Air France has presented to the media and travel market the new route Marseille-Milan Mxp operated twice a day. Ryanair responds with a twice daily Marseille-Milan Bergamo as from Oct 30 2011.

The competition between Air France and Ryanair on the same point of departure (Marseille) and the North Italy leading business market (Milan) now is open.

New Ryanair service Genoa-Rome Ciampino 2xday

The new route Rome Ciampino-Genoa is planned by Ryanair on twice daily basis as from Oct 30 2011. 200000 passengers are estimated on that route in the first year of operations.

Gulf Air reduce Milan services

Gulf Air will apply as from July 26 2011 the planned winter 2011/12 timetable reductions.

The route from Milan Malpensa will go from 6xweek to 5xweek with A320s.
