Air France close Paris CDG-Milan Mxp

The predicted Milan area major airport continue to lose flights, Air France as from Oct 30 2011 will cease all flights to Paris CDG, and they'll move these operations to Milan Linate.

Milan Linate will offer 10 daily flights to Paris CDG with winter timetable. Of which 3 operated by Alitalia and several further service again operated by Alitalia to Paris Orly.

Milan Malpensa airport will offer in future only services operated by low fares carrier

This negative news comes after that recently Lufthansa has decided to close the Italian division Lufthansa Italia after only 2 years from start up.


Gulf Air is back to Rome

As from November 30 2011 Gulf Air is newly back to Rome FCO with a four weekly flight from Bahrain. The schedule is on mondays/wednesdays/thursdaus/sundays with A320s aircraft.

This is the schedule:

Bahrain-Rome 0200 – 0600 GF029 1-34--7

Rome-Bahrain1110 – 1815 GF028 1-34--7

In the past Gulf Air has operated for several years with different type of airplanes including VC10s, L1011s, B767s.

British Airways very close to fly 6 times a day Milan Linate

Milan Linate is very close to offer 6 times a day everyday operated by British Airways to London Heathrow. As from Oct 30 2011 only on tuesday, saturday and sunday are available 6 flight a day, and five on the remaining weekdays. 38 weekly flights is the total weekly offer.

Milan Malpensa continue to be downgraded and only 19 flights a week are available on winter schedule 2011/12.

Air Italy wants Livingston long haul traffic rights

Air Italy has offered 200000€ for purchasing the traffic rights in the hands of Livingston from Italy to Brazil/Kenya/Cuba. Air Italy will employ 100 staffs, most of them are crews.

In the letter sent to the workforce that continue to stay home and paid with government subsidies. The extraordinary commissar Daniele Discepolo speaches that the long haul routes will be taken over before Oct 26 2011 from Air Italy with 100 employees, two jets ready to use and traffic rights in the hands to Kenya, Brazil and Cuba. The short haul will go better in the hands of a new firm.

The workforce now consists in total of 498 units.

Treviso closed until Dec 5 2011

The new opening date for Treviso airport is now the next Dec 5 2011. Until this date the airport will remain closed due to works in progress. Originally the opening date was on Sept 30 2011 but due to delay amassed the closure was extended. The airport located very close to Venice and with a network composed by mno frllls flights of several airlines while TRansavia, Ryanair, Germanwings, Wizz, Air Arabia Maroc was closed on June 1 and flights moved to Venice where they'll continue to land until the opening.

Delta Air Lines stops Rome-New York JFK in W11/12

The route Rome FCO-Mew York is not operated along all the winter schedule 2011/12 starting from Oct 30 2011.

Prima Air increase to 7 weekly the route Bologna-Naples

The new route Bologna-Naples planned by Oct 3 2011 is now scheduled and available for ticketing with 7 weekly flights. 3 in the morning on monday/wednesday/friday and 4 on the evening on monday/wednesday/friday/sundays.

They'll focus the flight operations at Bologna from Sept 19 with a first F100s fully based and the second by Oct 3 2011. Further new routes are expected to be announced soon. Currently Venice operated routes are planned to be ceased.

In the next coming winter timetable 2011/12 Italy will see a great reduction of flights and routes from the network of this Morocco's low cost airlines.

At this time they has dropped flights to Venice from Casablanca and next is Milan Malpensa and Bologna as from Oct 30 2011.

Services to Bologna continues temporary in the Christmas time only with a 2xweek flight operated on tuesdays and fridays from Dec 16 2011 to Jan 17 2012. will increase flights to France with 10 new routes from new points of departure in Morocco (Agadir and Marrakech) to Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse.

Air Italy continue to fly for Air Madagascar

At least until Sept 1 2011 Air Italy will continue to fly for Air Madagascar on international routes from Paris or Marseille using a B767s.

Blue Panorama continue to lease planes

Today LY-SKW n Aurela B737/300s, yesterday an Air Sweden A320s together with a Hellenic Imperial B747/200s SX-TIC that copes the temporary AOG recently had in Cuba to B767/300ER EI-CXO.

In the meantime B737/300s EI-DXB is now I-BPAI.

Alitalia fly high to Sao Paolo

Eight flights a week is the winter basic schedule on Rome FCO-Sao Paolo both with B777s, on the peak season the weekly flights are increased to 9 a week.

Ryanair re-opens sales to Zaragoza

The flights to Italy from Zaragoza which winter 2011/12 sales were suspended along last month are now available for booking. Bologna is twice a week, Bergamo is daily and Rome is 3xweek.

Alitalia lifts today Pope Benedict XVI to Madrid


Today Alitalia will carry on Pope Benedict XVI to Madrid for the XXVI Young World Days. The flight AZ4000 is operated with an A320s I-BIKO that has left Rome Ciampino at 9.30 with planned landing at 12.00.

The crew is composed by 2 Cpt's, 1 F/O and 7 crew flight attendants. Flight coordinator is FOPH Cpt Romano Germano. The Cpt. in charge is Giacomo Belloni with 10600 flying hours amassed in the carreer. Of course a selected press journalist follows Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican State delegation.

Alitalia  has offered 7 additional flights fro supporting the increase of demand necessary for lifting the passengers with use also of aircraft with more  seats availability.

Alitalia with this trip to Spain continues the cooperation with Stare of Vatican, that in last two years has lifted Pope Benedict XVI to Africa (Camerun e Angola), Holy Land, Prague, Malta, Lisbon, Cyprus, UK  (Edimburgh and London), Santiago de Compostela and Zagreb.

Skywork drops to fly Bern-Milan Mxp

No way to fly in future Bern-Milan Mxp is the decision made by the Swiss regional carrier interested to open new services from Milan Malpensa to Bern from the winter 2011/12 and than delayed to the summer 2012. The competition with train that runs daily between the town uis the major reason of why the airline has removed the flights from booking engine. They has started to sell flights from end of April.

The four weekly services to Rome Fiumicino are planned to start on next Sept 5 2011, with schedule on mondays, wedensdays, fridays, sundays.
