Its "Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio" (Vesuvius National Park) the name of the first of 20 Embraers that will revamp the Alitalia Regional Fleet. The ceremony was yesterday in Brazil at San Josè dos Campos, present Rocco Sabelli airline CEO. The 100 seater Embraer 190s commence the phase out of the old 16 jets now in fleet with Alitalia. The last Embraer will land in Italy at end of 2012. Its the first addition of an order signed by Compagnia Aerea Italiana, the company that in 2008 has took over the old Alitalia and AirOne. Previously the brand new planes delivered comes from AirOne orders.
5 new jets will be in fleet before the end of 2011. The nexts in 2012 and the order amounts to 400 million € in leasing. This business is right from the marketing point of view because will allows to cover the italians and international flows of small size.
First revenue flight planned for this EMB190s is Rome-Vienna. They are five 100 seater EMB1900s and fifteen 90 seater Embraer 175s. These planes are expected to be deployed not on the major trunk routes, but on mid size legs inside Italy or from Italy to abroad. They are full performant with 3000 Kms of range for EMB175s and 4000 in case to use the EMB190s. They has a speed of 890 Km/h and the target is to offer a good efficient service at reasonable management costs on routes where is very difficult to top up 180-200 passengers. In those market the first were low cost carriers and now the legacy ones with fares not too far away from rivals.
Alitalia was already an Embraer customer with 14 EMB145s from 2000 and than six EMB170s in 2003."What was imore important in the choice of the Brazilian regional jet has been the preference of our customers - Sabelli said- We offered three options for frequent flyers and all have expressed a liking for the products Embraer indisputable. "Alitalia's fleet of over 150 aircraft will be revolutionized in 2013 with the purchase of 62 aircraft (1 billion 700 million euros) and with a complete redesign of the rest. the first Embraer 190s aircraft has been delivered ten days in advance. Sabelli thanked the Embraer and hoped soon to be launched in the presence of the Brazilian manufacturer in Italy.
"We are going to close very well in the 3rd quarter" continues Sabelli - In the first time since Jan 2009 probably we will get a positive performance in the first nine months of 2011. We are confident to be in break even at end of the year and as in 2012 we will speak only of development.
New route from Palermo is Lyon available twice weekly from July 8 2012 on thursdays and sundays.
Bristol is expected to be linked with a thrice weekly flight on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays by May 12 2011. Edimburgh as well will get a new regular flight thanks to the 5th A320s based on the Scottish airport. Flights are available for bookings as from tomorrow.
Alitalia will carry on to Pope Benedict XVI on his trip to Germany.
Tomorrow flight number 4000 operated by an A320s will take off from Rome Ciampino at 08:15am local time with estimated time to land in Berlin Tegel at 10.30am
The crew on the flight deck is composed by two Captains, a first officer and 7 flight attendants choose for merits and professionality in the menwhile of their carreer
The flight is followed as coordinator by the Alitalia Flight Operations Post Holder Cpt. Roberto Germano.
The Captain in duty tomorrow is Giacomo Belloni with more than 10900 flight hours. Apart the Pope and the Vatican State delegation, several journalist will travel with.
Alitalia is the offical carrier since the start up operations and in the last two years they has lifted Pope Benedict XVI to Africa (Cameroon and Angola), in Holy Land, to Prague, Malta, Lisbon, Cyprus and the UK (Edinmburgh and London), to Santiago de Compostela, Zagreb and Madrid
No more flights after Oct 29 2011 will link Perugia and Milan Malpensa. The schedule currently is operated with 30 seater EMB120 Brasilias.
The route Odessa-Milan Mxp operated with EMB145s and Antonov 148s will see the last schedule on Oct 9 2011.
Recently thios flight was operated to Ivano Frankovsk and now is absolutely declared given up from the Ukraine International network map. The route in the past was operated twice a week.

In summer 2012 Lufthansa will offer two new routes from Dusseldorf. Catania is served twice weekly on saturdays and sundays. The second gateway is Bari with a weekly flight in saturdays.
Two additional weekly flights are now available as from Oct 2011. These flights are on wednesdays and saturdays from Rome and back on thursdays and sundays. Alitalia will offer 23 weekly flights on this route.
The bookings on the new planned route Bari-Thessaloniki are now ceased. Planned to start with winter time 2011/12.
Mirco Baccarini is the 4th million passenger departed or landed to Bologna since Ryanair commenced flight operations on Oct 26 2008. Starting March 30 2009 they has based 2 B737/800s and now they are currently 4. The target after five years was to handle 2 million ppa and now in 2011 they are going to 1,8. They are ahead of schedule of about 2 years. In August the epaked to fly with 5 jets based at Bologna and the high score was with 31 destinations served. In winter 2011/2012 they'll be 20 and they confirm Larnaca as all year round. This destination was recently launched. Trapani is a daily service resumed by Oct 30 2011, frequencies addition are to:Palermo operated twice daily, Bari with 10xweek, Brindisi is 9xweek and Paris with 9xweek.

On Sept 22 2011 Alitalia will get from Embraer the first brand new EMB190s EI-RNA. In the following day is planned to commence the long delivery flight that takes two days and five flights.
