Alitalia opens Torino-Reggio Calabria

The PSO on route Reggio Calabria-Turin was assigned to Alitalia and by Oct 10 2011 the flight is open twice weekly on maondays and fridays with A319s. With winter timetable 2011/2 the flights operated on mondays are switched to tuesdays. 

Iran Air resumes Rome

Weekly from winter timetable 2011/2 is the news that comes from Iran Air about the resume of services from Rome to Teheran every mondays In the meantime  Milan Malpensa services are doubled with a new flight on fridays.  

Air Italy quit two routes

Bergamo-Naples and Naples-Palermo are the route planned to be ceased with summer timetable 2011/2.

Prima close Bologna

Prima-Aero Trasporti Italiani after change of top management have not a clear strategy for winter timetable 2011/2. The gateway of Bologna is fully closed as from Oct 30 2011 when the last revenue flight on Bologna-Catania is planned to be scheduled. Route Bologna-Reggio Calabria was ceased on Oct 10 2011.

Egyptair use A330s on Milan-Cairo

Daily from march 2012 the use of A330s on Milan-Cairo. The second daily flights is on friday to monday. 

Cimber Sterling expands Rome in summer 2012

19 weekly flights is the new timetable in summer 2012 planned by Cimber Sterling from Copenhagen to Rome FCO. Twice weekly as from Bologna, Catania, Naples.

Belle Air launch Rome-Skopje

Twice weekly on thursdays and sundays is the new route proposed by Belle Air as from Dec 12 2011.

Blu-express.com opens Rome-Skopje

Twice weekly on Rome FCO-Skopje every thursdays and sundays is the new flight as from next Oct 30 2011. B737s are in use on the route.

Biman delays Milan Malpensa

Its only a smallest delay of 2 week the opening of new flights from Bangla Desh to Milan Malpensa, second gateway in Italy. instead of Oct 31 2011, the new first day is on Nov 14 2011. No changes on frequencies, weekly in the first two weeks and than twice a week as from Nov 28 2011 . The services are jointly with Rome Fiumicino and operated with newest B777/300LRs. Currently to Rome is in use the oldtimer DC10s

DHL to Milan Malpensa?

Local newspapers at Bergamo speaks about an interesting offer delivered to DHL from Milan Malpensa aviation business department. In 2013 probably will happen the switch from Bergamo to Milan Malpensa. The hub today managed by DHL handle about 20 daily flights operated by different jets (A300Fs, B757Fs) or from contractors.

Singapore Airlines will fly Milan-New York?

In the last weeks from the Italian Government appear that soon the clearance will be delivered to Singapore Airliones for obtaining traffic rights on Milan Malpensa-New York JFK non stop. Its an application sent to the Italian DOT but without any reply until now. Singapore is hopping about that. 

Air Italy for Meridiana fly from Florence

An Air Italy B737/700s as from Nov 1 2011 every day will fly London Gatwick (twice a day) and daily to Cagliari. These flights are operated on behalf for Meridiana fly after that they has closed the base with four A319s. 

Alitalia now only in english

Alitalia has introduced the 100% communications aboard of her airplanes. No longer the italian is used between the crew to communicate (i.e. "crew prepare for take off or landing, disarm slides, etc).

Air Vallee resumes Pescara-Turin

Its planned shortly that Air Valee resume flights on Turin-Pescara with three flights a week. The flight equipment is the 31 seater Do328JETs.

Globe Ground freeze 65 jobs at Milan Malpensa

65 workers up to total workforce of 150 at Milan Malpensa shortly will be pit in hold on with government aids for job occupation lacks. The decision comes after the going out of business decided by Lufthansa Italia.
