Five daily to Catania from Milan Linate is the future of Meridiana fly with intention to fill the gap left by Windjet collapse. Daily to Palermo from Milan Linate and Cagliari-Milan Linate downsized to 2xday.
New flights and routes upsizing in the summer 2013 proposed by Norwegian.

In the Italy's domestic network as from now is available a new policy fare with introcution of new levels BASIC and PREMIUM.
This new policy is not suitable:
- PSOs routes between Sicily and Pantelleria/Lampedusa.
- PSOs to Sardinia on fare basis L.
With BASIC passengers can go with lowest fare available, with free web check-in as from 7 days before departure. Further services like to carry on a bag in the bulk as registered is upon payment.
PREMIUM level is available
Con PREMIUM , semplice with a minor surcharge from 10€ and passenger obatin a seies of comfortable and flexible range of services with two 23 Kgs pieces for free, web check-in free of charge and no fees for seat assignment, no penalties on change date but with only a fare alignment to the lower available at that time, refundable until 7 days from departure, free miles and fast track boarding for free at Bologna, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa e Naples..
Four destinations operated now non stop from Bologna to Bari/Naples/Lamezia/Palermo are discontinued as from Oct 28 2012.
By winter timetable, services to Lamezia and Reggio Calabria from AirOne base of Pisa are given up.
Munich-Florence as from winter timetable 2012/13 are reduced to 3xday from 4xday (2xEMB195s and 1xATR72s).
Munich-Pisa is downsized to 1xday and operated with ATR72s.
A new base is in progress to be open shortly at Catania. After the demise of Windjet, competitors are on the way to fill the gap left. New network is composed by:
Turin, twice a day
Milan Malpensa is vary from daily to 4xday
Pisa service operated by the base positioned in the Tuscan airport is upgraded from daily to 12xweek.
On Sept 10 2012 Ethiopian has operated the first revenue commercial flight to Italy with a Brussel-Milan Mxp-Addis Ababa. Officially on next monday 17th of September ADR Rome airports managing company will present the jetliner in the early afternoon at 1:45pm.
The soon demise of flights to Frankfurt involved in the same rotation from Asmara to Rome FCO will not affect the services to the Italian main gateway that remains three times a week with A319s.
Twice weekly on fridays and sundays with effect Oct 28 2012 on the route Milan Mxp-Cagliari with 180 seater A320s.
No more flights in future to Milan Malpensa after Sept 14th 2012. Services continues and they are not discontinued after that date to Rome FCO with stop to Abu Dhabi.
This route uis ceased at end of summer timetable 2012. Traffic loads are lower than expected by the airline.
Its a news reported from a local news media which informs that Wizzir at end of October could stop flights to Forlì also in the remaining destination to Romania and Bulgaria. No further notices comes from the airline.
Alitalia will hand off all flights to Crotone with origins Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino by Dec 7 2012. These routes are operated under PSO.
The route Genoa-Madrid will be given up by the end of summer schedule 2012/3
