It's snowing ... and snowing ... and snowing .... No chance to catch some Fighters from up the mountain.
Radio is also very calm, only the aircrafts with hot missions will fly today - meaning maximum 4 a/c's departs/arrives each hour or so.
HOT NEWS: This afternoon the a/c's will fly from Payerne (LSMP) due to the very bad weather !
Only an half an hour after I've written the last post this morning the sun came out and I had to hurry up to reach my position of the day.
After 40mins of hiking (thanks to my Snowshoes, otherwise I whould have used the double of time) I was greeted with this nice view:
And yes - not long after that I had visitors
The weather is also today not on my side - visibility less than 600m. But I can go skiing and let you listen to the temporary ATC-Stream of Meiringen (LSMM). I will try to keep him alive 'till Friday or saturday.
The F-5 Tiger II will be named SPOOF and SHARK , Hornets are ROCCO, FALCON, PANTHER and BEAST so far.
'ROCCO' returns low to Meiringen - with AIM-120B AMRAAM and AIM-9X SIDEWINDER
Yesterday the Swiss Air Force had begun to guard the sky around Davos. For that the following Airspace is restrictet:
The Live-Missions where flown from Meiringen (LSMM) and include F-5E Tiger II with Pilots from the Fliegerstaffel 8 and F/A-18 C/D Hornets with Pilots from all Hornet Squadrons.
Due to bad weather on my position in the mountains, I've made only some bad quality shots yesterday. But anyway - Swiss Air Force's aircrafts photographed from above with Live-Ammunition are rare
Two Tigers return to Meiringen with two AIM-9P5 Sidewinders each:
Hornet J-5017 and J-5018 had received some new paint - here you can see the 'CAG-Bird' of Fightersquadron 18 after it's first flight in this sheme on 10th december 2009
Finally - the new version of my homepage is now online. I've decided to run it as blog, it's much faster than managing a homepage.
Contents are nearly the same - I will try to give you very actual pictures - favourable in the well known 'Grimmi-Style' - and news of our Air Force.
