Hide and Seek - evade the Stinger Bookmark and Share

Yesterday  I've visited the training area of Grandvillard near Gruyéres (yes, that famous area of the good cheese, Fondue and Meringues !!!).

What did I wanted to do there ? Hmm, I think I was better informed then those guys there:

That group is called an 'Stinger FE', meaning a firegroup of the famous Stinger shoulder launched Anti-Aircraft-Missile (pdf, german). Around such groups you can find now the new ALERT-Reccon-groups (pdf, german). During my military service I was also an Recce, but without this Radar. Anyway, the work as Recce is the same - inform the FE-groups which a/c comes from which direction. Then they have to leave their hideout and try to lock the target.

But that can pose some difficulty Geeked :

Have you found the target ???

Anyway - sometimes you can see them quite well and it was a great fun to watch this hide-and-seek-game. Maybe I will visit this area next week again, 'cause I wanna see the F-5 Tiger hiding.
