January 2008 - Posts
We have created a new and exciting area on AirSpace that celebrates the 100 year anniversary of Flight International while putting your debating skills to the test.
Our aim is simple; to create an exclusive list with a difference! With your help and industry opinion, we want to create a definitive list of the 100 greatest, made up from the top twenty of five highly-charged categories. Those categories are:
- Civil Aircraft
- Military Aircraft
- Engines
- People
- Moments
To begin with we just want nominations. Is the A380 the best civil aircraft of the last hundred years? Can the Spitfire be bettered in military aircraft history? By nominating your favourite you can place your nominations into the mix and put it into the contention for the top 20 list.
It won't only be you nominating though. We will have opinion from around the industry on their best moment or favourite person. From CEOs to the movers and shakers, we want to canvass opinion from everywhere to create a final shortlist of twenty for each category.
Once that is achieved, our shortlists will be open to vote, where you will help decide the order of the top twenty, and allow us to create a definitive 100 list, which will be unveiled at Farnborough air show.
So get nominating if you want to see your favourite get the recognition it deserves...
To celebrate the introduction of our Downloads area, we have added an podcast interview between Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton and Max
Kingsley-Jones. They talked while on a Learjet 40 from the TAG Aviation
business terminal at Farnborough in the UK, to the Bombardier factory in
Belfast, where he made a guest appearance as part of Shorts 100th
anniversary celebrations.
In it, Lewis explains how his role with Bombardier has transformed his
life, as well as his thoughts on the prospects for some more close
racing in the 2008 F1 season. You can hear it here!
Hi,
This week has been all change on AirSpace, first with the
changes to the the photos page and now with the addition of a new
download section.
This area allows you to download different content, from
podcasts (a selection of which we have started with) to hopefully in the near
future screensavers and other such elements.
If you have any ideas of what you would like to see in this
area, please let me know
Firstly a Happy New Year to all! This is an exciting time for AirSpace and i am really glad that you are all with us!
We have made some exciting changes to the photos page on AirSpace (after taking some of your views on board), which now showcase more of the latest and most popular content that is uploaded to AirSpace. Rather than having a list of the latest galleries uploaded, we now have yor own gallery pictures on top, followed by boxes highlighting:
- The most recent pictures
- The highest rated
- The most commented
- The most viewed
These additions will i hope highlight the great variety of photos we have and also increase the importance of rating and commenting on photos, as the best pictures will be emphasised on that page.
This is only the first step in improving the photos area, we also hope to soon improve the method of uploading pictures (to allow multiple pictures to be uploaded/tagged at once).
If you have any comments on the improvements, or suggestions for future improvements, please do not hesitate to comment or contact me directly.
Enjoy,
Maverick
P.S It is quite illuminating that the most viewed pictures at the moment are all Ryanair calendar girl
