Keep a good look out
Hi, I dont know if this is the sort of thing you like to blog about.. we fly a 2 seat glider around the south of england. This summer (?) we had a close encounter with a Tornato ( no i didnt get a picture of it) we have just had the report back and there was 150 feet seperation which we thought was about right although it seemed closer at the time..It came from behind us and over our heads.
Having lived in the north of England under low flying airspace i am very aware of the jets and what they get up to.
I hope everyone out there who flies around any day of the week 'thinks Glider'... Bit like 'think bike'!
We are there we are slim, quiet and usually about when the sky looks pretty..Gliding is a small part of the aviation world its a fabulous way to fly but often we are very vunurable. Glider pilots are taught from day one LOOK OUT all the time.
I trust that all other aviators are taught the same and hope they give us a wave when they see us...
If you havent looked into gliding then take a peak at this utube it will give you a taste.
