Starting a Museum # 9
What am I doing? At my age I should be sipping a nice coctail on a nice beach, watching all the nice bikini girls.
I am working half days (12 hours) and sometimes getting frustrated and
upset and tired. I have a vision of a great museum that will entertain
and educate thousands of people.
I am not looking for my name on
the facade or anywhere else. I like to be in the background pulling all
the strings and make sure we do not derail.
Hearing about all the
pittfalls attached to age, it sure feels good to know that the small
greys are still working and do not get paid overtime.
offloaded all this on you, we are progressing at a good speed with the
museum. we are expecting a proposal for the land and building from
Boundary Bay Airport, but we are not impatient and the more time it
takes, we have that to built the foundation for the museum, solid and
Getting the Frasca 101 Flight Simulator from the BC
Aviation Museum is definitely a great morale booster and we are very
excited about this. The simulator will be moved on August 8th or 9th
across the water to its new home. We will assemble and plug it in and
see what happens?.
The people at Victoria Flight Training where the Frasca originally
came from named their simulators after their kids, so ours is
"Humphrey". Our home built simulator will be named "Andy" in order to
recognise the person who donated it to us.
We are pursuing other
simulators and are talking to a lot of people. Our aim is to have a real
simulator, a Cockpit Procedure Trainer a link trainer plus artifacts
from the simulation industry.
We are gearing up for the Boundary
Bay Airshow (July 27th 2013) where we will have a tent to promote the
museum. Our homebuilt simulator will be on display as a static. Still
need to install computer and flat screen in it to make it workable. A
donation of a computer, flat screen and a joy stick has been gratefully
accepted and we will use Xplane10 as our common simulator software.
So for now I am not thinking about beaches with white sand and bikini
girls, but rather simulation in all its aspects. Stay tuned.
