The results of the keenly contested "100 Greatest" survey have been released this morning (16th July) to great fanfare at the Farnborough Air Show. But do you agree with what's been chosen, do you think a moment is woefully low on the list or even worse omitted altogether. Have your say?

How can an event that is still disputed as to whether it ever did take place (outside of a film studio that is!) win the greatest moment! Absolute codswallop!

I'm happy to see the Moon landing and Gagarin's first trip into space take the top two places but things get a little harder for me to understand after that. Maiden flights of Concorde and the A380 coming in ahead of the Bell X-1 breaking the sound barrier? I'm sure people have their reasons for voting for them but I just don't get it.

Like everyone else, I enjoyed the exercise but am completely baffled/amazed/confused/staggered/mind-boggled/stupefied/disturbed/depressed and mind-numbed at how so many could not see the glaringly obvious choices when it came to nominating the Greatest Civil and Military aircraft types.

For Civil it just had to be the Handley-Page "Hannibal".

For Military there was only one obvious choice. The Blackburn "Roc".

Have my nearly sixty years of minute technical examination of the planet's aircraft all been for nought?

Alas and alack. Ones credibility has been shot down in flames; probably never to be regained......
