Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday will introduce a new airplane model to be used to train firefighters for aircraft incidents.
The Airbus A380 mockup will be used for live fire training at the DFW Fire Training Research Center. The model of the world’s largest passenger airliner is part of a $29.2 million renovation program this year at the center.
More than 15,000 firefighters from 29 states and 24 countries have trained at the Fire Training Research Center since it opened in 1995.
