The ADS-B technology will become rule in the next years. Canada setts the date to Aug 08 as its mark. What detail equipment has to be installed on comertial aircraft?

Does anyone know more?

Currently ADS-B is provided in Airspace with SSR via a modified Mode S transponder as an extended squitter of data over and above the normal SSR reply from the aircraft being interogated by the gound station. GPS(GNSS) data is provided as well as other aircraft parameters in a data message which is sent down to ATC . In Europe ADS-B will be mandatory in 2015. Outside Secondary Radar coverage (over Oceans) the data would be transmitted via Satellite.
