I wasn't sure about Aerion at first, but it is starting to look like a real aeroplane. But who will build it? Gulfstream has its own design. Bombardier is too boring. Cessna is keen, but prefers the low-boom QSST design. I might be persuaded to put some money on on Dassault and IAI - IAI to build it and Dassault to market it...

Good question. At $80 million, an SSBJ is well beyond the price of a BBJ with a cabin a fraction the size. All along, SSBJ proponents have said the biggest potential customers are fractional ownership programmes. That brings the price down for a start - and speed sells, as NetJets has shown. The Citation X is one of the most popular aircraft in its fleet because it looks - and is - faster than anything else flying.
