Air Passenger Duty Set For Damaging Rise.

The cost of air tickets is set to rise tomorrow when the first of two planned increases in airport passenger tax comes into effect. The increases vary and are between, £1 extra for short - haul economy, to £30 extra for long-haul premium flyer's. The Government approves of the increase on Environmental grounds.

I dont think that anyone will even notice, however add it all up.......(I'm not going to)

Heathrow alone had 67 million pax last year .

    Environmental grounds ?

It should be, but the environment I think they have in mind is a fiscal one, of increasing Government debt;and every little helps with the next months interest payments on that debt.
