I prefer to fly on aircraft made by McDonnell Douglas :-)

The Winner Takes It All
I prefer to fly on Airbus aircraft as a passenger but I prefer to fly Boeing aircraft
In my experience the boeing configurations tend to have tiny bit more leg room that the airbus counterparts. Am thinking 737 vs A320 in particular
Personally, I'd choose a Tupolev over either one of the choices above. However, seeing as that isn't an option I'll take Boeing over Airbus.
As Chipmunker says - there tends to be slightly more room in Boeing products.
Vidi, Vici, Veni. I saw, I conquered, I came.
Going by the movies the 787 will be the best.
If they included bunk beds in the A380 or even a creech for children to run and play in the A380 would win, but they won't. The fountain looked like an interesting place for kids though.
Lets face it, the A320 series is a seriously good aircraft compared to the Next Gen 737, from a passenger perspective. I fly weekly on various airlines and can see the difference.
Legroom is purely an airline configuration policy/strategy and nothing to do with the aircraft.
Even on easyjet, flying both 737-700 and A319s on high density configurations, the A319 comes tops for comfort and a wider cabin. The 737 feels more rough, too, all round on take-offs and landings...I am not a pilot, so cannot elaborate, but from a passenger perspective, Airbus wins.
Long-haul wise, Boeing is definitely better...the 777 and 747 were trully designed for long-haul and they are comfortable to fly aircraft, again, depending on airline configuration.
I do love the Virgin A340-600s but, night flights are not comfortable due to the fact that the cabin is not good enough for long-haul. I cannot wait to board the A380 and later on the A350.
Airbus deserves credit on its innovative approaches with composites and fly-by-wire, way before Boeing dared to make a difference.
So, the 787 will bring the right balance and Airbus will respond accordingly.
The 787 is a beautifuly designed aircraft, but the 3-3-3 configuration in economy is not what I call desirable. Travelling alone, I would not want to be stuck on that middle seat on a long-haul flight for long.
I think that 3 abreast-seating can generally not be claimed as the favorite choice but many are saying this.
So a 3 + 3 + 3 is rather not fine, because three persons must be seated in the middle-seat when the aircraft is fully booked and I´ve never heard that these seats are popular while at the same time I read often that people like the 3 +3-seating more than 2 + 3 (on most Avroliners, Fokker 100s, Boeing 717s, MD-80/-90s etc) but I never understood their arguments in favour of 3+3. Even the critics
So a 2 + 4 + 2 (like on most A300s, A330s/340s) or assymetrical seating (like on some MD-11) 3 + 5 +2 is more practical for sole travellers and big families at the same time.

Titch since when do you need more room! I have seen you on channel five and am sure that a PA-28 would be massive to you!

True. But you can never have too much personal space whilst hurtling through the skies in a aluminium tube....
And I'm still sticking with the Tupolev on this one.
