Hi to all from Germany.

My name is Rami, I am subscribed to Flight Global since almost a year, and that's my first time I post in your forum. I'm a aerospace student, writing my master thesis through an internship at Airbus in Hamburg / Germany. For that purpose, I need to gather data about aircraft ground operations and handling, and I thought I'd use this opportunity to write in this forum, hoping that an expect could guide me with some beneficial infos or references.

Though everything in the commercial aviation is very systemized and described in a strict and clear way, in reality, there is a big difference between handling a low cost carrier and handling a full service carrier. For my thesis, I need the following data:

1. Handling operation (process / flow) in steps for each model

2. How does this process differs depending on the parking position (at the gate, or remote parking position)

3. Handling Service Charges for airports, (man and material costs)

4. Statistical information. example: how many aircrafts have been de-iced at FRA in 2007

Some Airports have some environmental restrictions for noise abandment, (example: Hamburg and Zurich.... do you know any in the states??) so airlines at these airports are obliged to use more of the airport's services / fascilities, like APU instead of the APU. What restrictions are there on which airports is easy to find written in the Jeppesen aeronautical charts. But I'm finding difficulties in finding the data I described in the 4 points above. I will leave contacting the operation departmnets at airlines and airports to my last choice, since I'm still hoping to find some published infos in books, magazines, internet.... before I go to personal contacts!

Any help / support from flight global's community, even by refering to a magazine's issue, or talking to some of the guys working at airlines' or airports' operation departments will be very very appreciated!

Thanks and Regards from North Germany,

The rainmaker
