An all metail airship!!

Does anyone know if it ever flew?

Not sure about the exact airship pictured...however, it looks like all metal airships did fly. Check out this Wikipedia article on an airship called the ZMC-2.

 

A quick Google search came back with this site, with a bit more info:

I don't know aobut anyone else, but when I think Airships, I think one thing, and one thing only...

That is an epic Airship, i am not sure how far Indie would get on that thing :-)

 You're right though, the sight of those things always reminds me of the mighty Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (which has to be the best out of the three films)

It says they were planning on getting it ready for 1935 launch, but haven't found anything saying it flew.
