Okay okay i am a day late but it is still worth having a small tribute to Amelia Earhart, who went missing 70 years ago yesterday. I found this picture and article from the flight archive reporting her Atlantic crossing in 1932:

this one documents the calling off of the search for her aircraft in the south pacific:

Interesting turn of phrase from the journalist:

"It is, in fact, inconceivable that two white people could still be alive after having been exposed so long in the tropics."

It seems that investigators still haven't lost hope in finding her, as they are going to resume a search in the South Pacific:

According to the story the conditons are as follows:

"The conditions during the search will be punishing, with the explorers forced to contend with dense jungle vegetation, 100-degree heat, sharks that reside in a lagoon in the middle of the island and voracious crabs that make it necessary to wear shoes at all times."

Think i'll stay here thanks Stick out tongue

Just seen that they are makinf a film about Amelia, starring the Swankster (i.e Hillary Swank), star of Boys Don't Cry and the incredibly good but sad Million Dollar Baby. Calling it Amelia, it will also star Richard Gere, unfortunately
