    Are Ryanair taking the P**s

Ryanair mulling hike in boarding card printing fee

Ryanair is considering raising to €100 the fee for printing of boarding cards, it was reported this morning..

All passengers are required to check in for Ryanair flights online and print their boarding passes prior to arriving at the airport.

The no-frills airline currently charges passengers who forget to do so and require a reprint at the airport €40.

Ryanair - which reported pre-tax profits of €419m for the six months to September - said it was considering raising this to €100..

Is this a 'punishment' for not printing the boarding card before arriving at the airport , or have Ryanair worked out that this is a very profitable exercise . Many people can probably check in online at WiFi hotspots , but are not always able to print a boarding pass when travelling.

Why can't they have check-in kiosks like other (less profitable) airlines . I think this particular element of ticket price un-bundling is a step to far .  You can choose to carry a bag or check one  , you can't pass through an airport without a boarding card . If Ryanair were offering some free alternate technological means ( Mobile phone boarding card) , then maybe it would be acceptable , but as they are not, why should it be charged. I know Ryanair will argue they have the lowest fares , but it's the total cost of getting from A to B that one should look at , not just the 'seat only' element.

A scam, people are falsely tricked into Ryanair by offering free flights, only to find out they are to be exposed to their absurd rules and demands Ryanair wants its passengers to give a valid boarding pass to get on board. So it's totally unfair to force your passengers to pay for something ONLY the airline needs.  I have just recently flown with Wizz, I got a great service no hidden extras and a very cheap flight, and a speedy check-in
