Anmer, I think that's a default icon for anything that Atlas doesn't have a set icon for - I've seen the same one in use for a Citation Jet and a Super Puma.
My wings are like a shield of steel.
Dare I suggest that your 5 minute delay is optimistic as too are the relative aircraft positions.
The right-hand side image is from my realtime Basestation screen at 13.57 Zulu. AAL47 appeared in the same location on Atlas at 14.24, some 27 minutes later.
At which time RYR9HL was actaually north east of AAL47, whereas Atlas shows it in a south easterly location?

Goose: Thanks again Mike, we are currently investigating this, it may be down to one of our subscribers having an old box and old firmware, this creates an additional 5 minute delay...?

Possibly. But when I went to school 5 plus 5 made 10, not 27
Plus the data timestamps should be correct, just delivered 5 minutes later.
Again thanks for the feedback, we must remember that Atlas is a Beta version
I appreciate it's a beta, but when I was responsible for new software, beta releases were to get feedback and sort things out.
Hi,
Like the Atlas service.
One thing I noticed over last weekend was a flight I was trying to follow out of EGKK. It was a Meridiana flight to Florence (LIRQ). After 10 mins from take off I expected it to appear on screen but nothing. Eventually after about 20 mins after departure it appeared on screen just north of Dieppe on the English channel. Not sure if this just a feed issue.
Also when I zoomed into Italy last Sat morning I did not get a data feed from most of the northern Italian airports. I realise it takes time to start populating but nothing happened.
What is the geographical limit for data feeds. e.g. was trying to track my brother's flight from Mumbai to London on BA.....that is probably asking a lot to have coverage that far out but thought I would ask.
Anyway great site with a lot of potential....I'm a little spolit having used the professional version of Flight Explorer but if it can be developed further it would be great.
