Turkish rescue crews have reportedly reached the wreckage of a Boeing MD-83 that crashed while on a domestic flight early this morning and reports say it appears all on board were killed.

Authorities told local media that all of the 49 passengers and seven crew on board are believed to have been killed in the early-morning crash of the aircraft, which was being operated for local carrier Atlasjet.

Based on preliminary information, the MD-83 crashed while on approach to the southern city of Isparta’s Suleyman Demirel Airport, which is surrounded by mountains.

Hmmmm.  So we have a CFIT with no post-crash fire.  I'm gonna throw this theory out there for further discussion, but is anybody of the opinion that fuel starvation may have been a factor?

Either that or the aircraft must have been in a very shallow descent with very little forward motion.....
