Aerolineas Argentinas has completed the first stage of its plan of fleet renovation with the arrival of 2 more new Embraer 190 aircraft that will be part of the Austral fleet.
Today’s arrival of LV-CHR and LV-CHS makes a total of 9 aircraft delivered since 20/9 by Embraer (Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A.). The 9 Embraer E-190 are the first out of a batch of 20 aircraft that will be delivered within the first half of 2011.
This purchase is the most important effected by Aerolineas/Austral in terms of volume and delivery and will enable both companies to have one of the most modern passenger fleets in Latin America. The last time that Aerolineas made a purchase of this magnitude was back in the 70s when 12 B-737/200 were bought and delivered by Boeing USA within 4 years.
The first 9 E-190 were delivered in 90 days only.
