Dublin based lessor, AWAS, has delivered the first of three Fokker F70s to Carpatair in Timisoara, Romania.
With the delivery of these aircraft Carpatair will access new routes and markets, starting this spring. The aircraft will be used on both domestic and international routes from the Carpatair hub in Timisoara and on direct flights from Bucharest and other Romanian airports. The other two aircraft are scheduled for delivery in February and March 2010.
“The acquisition the Fokker 70s allows for the reduction of operating costs of up to 20% on certain routes. While during the winter flight program the aircraft will operate on existing routes, from March-April 2010, we will be launching new routes which will be served exclusively by these aircraft”, said Nicolae Petrov, Carpatair President & CEO.
Jennifer Moulton, Senior Vice President, Sales at AWAS said “We are delighted to add Carpatair to our growing European client base. We look forward to supporting them through tailored solutions from our diversified fleet.”
