On 10 July Britain will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Throughout the year and around there will be numerous events to mark the occasion, including the RAF who consider this the most important event in its history.
The RAF Museum in Hendon, London is applying for planning permission for a 116m (350ft) beacon which will house a permanent exhibition of the Battle of Britain a unique collection of aircraft actually involved in the battle, memorabilia and archives "preserved for the education of future generations".
Does anyone have any memories they'd like to share. I'd love to hear from you.
