I recently posted wondering if western carriers would try out new aircraft like the Superjet, MRJ, or ARJ21. They might have a tough time because of obvious political barriers (except for maybe the MRJ).But what if a new western manufacturer emerged, along the lines of Fairchild or Fokker? Would carriers bite then? Or has BABE (Boeing Airbus Bombardier Embraer) too strong of a foothold? Would it be too big of a risk?

What if an already strong manufactorer like Cessna tried making a Citation RJ, could they possibly succeed?
