Fancy your chances as the new Rocketman/Rocketwomen? Got some loose change (to the tune of $30,000 or so)? Then why not have a go at becoming a Jetpack star and bid on a flight.

“If you love aviation or just fancy doing something completely different that you’ll be talking about for the rest of your life, then this awe inspiring fantasy flight is for you”, says Mr Lauder, Chief Executive of Martin Aircraft Company.  New Zealand, the country that brought you jet boating and bungee jumping, has now got ready a new experience of a lifetime, to fly a Jetpack. “Before the development of the Martin Jetpack there were more people who had been to the moon than had flown a jetpack”.

Last year, Martin Aircraft Company unveiled their new creation of the Martin Jetpack, and now, another history making event, an auction on eBay will allow the winning bidder to become the first person, outside their firm, to fly the Jetpack. The winning will have 3 days training and will get at least 6 flying times on the Jetpack; they will be surrounded by members of the Martin Aircraft crew and cameras, to record their every move.

A line-up of adrenaline junkies should be interested in taking part in making aviation history; hence, the starting bid on eBay is $30,000. On top of that, you have to pay for your travel to Christchurch, New Zealand. However, anyone over the age of 18 and under the weight of 90Kg can bid for the experience.
