Two 24 hour strikes are due to take place, starting at 06:00 on January 7 and 14, with a 48 hour strike starting at 06:00 on January 17. Should they go ahead, they will affect the travel plans of 1.3 million airline customers, and more strikes have been promised if the dispute is not settled.
I have just heard that Birmingham will have most of the Emirates flights if the strike goes ahead...so there could be at least 6 Emirates flights starting on the 7th Jan...don't shoot the poster this is only rumour at the moment

Some of Britain's busiest airports are set to be disrupted after union members at BAA voted for strike action over plans to change pension rights.
The Unite union has called 24-hour strikes starting at 0600 GMT on 7 and 14 January and a 48-hour strike starting at 0600 GMT on 17 January.

News from New Year's Day seems to indicate that a settlement is likely, so the strikes won't take place now.
