Sunday has gone as well-just in case anyone has missed it, see the Air Tattoo website for details-basically the show site is too far gone to recover in time. Monday's Park and View is, however, still planned to be open according to the IAT.

Yep, extremely gutting, but having seen the conditions Friday, perfectly understandable. However, some good news.Confirmation from RIAT that the FRIAT and Park and View enclosures are open on Monday. With different parking options. Anyone who is going to be at the western PV, we'll see you there.

Roll on 2009. And hopefully better weather.

It is a massive shame for everyone involved and for the people who wanted to visit the show. I did still go today and managed to see almost everything there, albeit via very muddy areas! Having been there and seen the state of the fields it was unfortunately the right decision to cancel the show. It was hard though to see people on the base being able to photo the static and not being able to go in though!

I blame the lack of organisation.

I was there yesterday (Friday) and no one seemed to have a clue about running a large event let alone in adverse conditions. Cars were actually getting stuck in the morning before the heavy rain started. The right decision would've been to plan a contingency for the rain. I've been to large events hit by rain that just shove loads of hay and straw down and that does the trick.

Anyhow the parking was just one of a whole plethora of examples of crap organisations. And as Roy Keane used to say "fail to plan ... plan to fail."

From what I was told by one of the volunteers on the western PV. The farmer wouldn't allow anything to be placed on the field. eg. hay. I guess because he want's the cows back in there Tuesday.
