It seems like these meetings are coming close to a conclusion, apparently both companies are holding separate board meetings to discuss a "potential transaction" between the two sides.
Either way it has boosted BA's shareprices today and that can only be a good thing with the losses they announced last week

Both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding as they look to finalise an agreement. The Merger may complete in late 2010. BA will have 55% and Iberia will hold 45%. Iberias Antonio Vazquez would be chairman of the new company, while BA's boss Willie Walsh will be chief executive.
